St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church
Serbian Orthodox Church, Merrillville, IN, was established in 1914 in Gary, IN. Divine Liturgy Sundays 10am, Fr. Marko Matic officiating. Liturgical responses by Karageorge Choir. Sunday School starts after Holy Communion (around 11:15) until 12:15. Serbian School will be incorporated into Sunday School. Vespers served Tuesdays and Saturdays at 6:00 p.m. Join us, everyone welcome! Folklore dance group and choir always accepting new members. Attend Sunday Luncheons after Liturgy, hosted by families or organizations, serving delicious homemade food and desserts.

Notice: June Senior Luncheon has been cancelled. Millie Kokotovich has been hospitalized just this week. Please note that the Senior Luncheons will resume in August, after Serb Fest. Check back for August Luncheon date. We wish Millie a speed recovery.

On any given Sunday, in any Serbian Orthodox Church around the world, you'll hear acapella voices of choir members singing responses for Divine Liturgy. On Sunday, June 2nd, St. Sava Church was blessed to have the dedicated SOCA choir members join Karageorge in the choir loft. Singers came from St. Louis, Indianapolis, Cudahy, Milwaukee, Chicago, Columbus, East Chicago, Joliet, and Hamilton, Canada. Under the direction of Mary Lou Suitca, they sang inspirational hymns of the Resurrection. Attending Clergy were Very Rev. Marko Matic, Very Rev. Bogdan Zjalic, Very Rev. Lazar Kostur, Deacon Nikolaj Kostur, and Deacon Nenad Jakovljevic.
Lamb & Pig Sold By The Pound Every Sunday
LAMB & PIG WILL BE SOLD BY THE LB. ($13 PER LB., 2 LB. MINIMUM) THIS SUNDAY IN THE OUTSIDE KITCHEN BY THE PAVILION AFTER DIVINE LITURGY. Stop by any Sunday during the summer months after Divine Liturgy for old-country style roasted lamb or pig. If you need a large quantity, please call the church office ahead of time.

Karageorge celebrated their 100th Anniversary and hosted the SOCA Festival this past weekend. They presented this video to honor the many past members and founders as well as many past activities.
