HOLY COMMUNION & ADVENT WORKSHOP

posted by stgeorge on Dec 4th, 2011 at 5:13 pm

On, Saturday, December 3rd, many of our St. George children filled our church with their families for Divine Liturgy.  The children sang most of the responses to the service directed by Tijana Samardzija.  It was uplifting to see the children truly participiate in the liturgy by singing and reading together.  The children received the holy sacraments of Confession and Communion and following liturgy we had a full day of activities for our children.  Dr. Janja Katic lead a session for our older children on how to read the Epistle.  Prota Dobrivoje held an altar boy workshop to further explained the importance of their duties during the Liturgy.  We had 5 new altar boys come for the workshop! Tijana Samardzija held  a Children's Choir rehearsal as the children are practicing Christmas Carols for our January 1st Christmas concert.  And we cannot forget the CRAFTS!!!  The children had fun with the different Christmas crafts throughout the day!  Thank you to all the teachers and moms for helping with gluing , cutting, and clean up!!!  As we are now observing the Nativity Lent, it is important to be together as a church family!
