The Sunday of Orthodoxy is the first Sunday of Great Lent.  The dominant theme of this Sunday since the year 843 has been that of the victory of the icons.  In that year the iconoclastic controversy which raged on and off since the year 726, was finally laid to the rest.  The icons and their veneration were restored on the first Sunday in Lent.  Ever since, this Sunday has been commemorated as the "Triumph of Orthodoxy". St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Tarpon Springs was the host of this years vesper service that commemorates the Sunday of Orthodoxy on Feb 21, 2010.  There were eleven priests that served during the evening vesper service from various Orthodox churches in the Tampa Bay area including our very own Father John Todorovich and Father Peter Tutko.  Also participating was the Orthodox Youth Choir of Tampa Bay.
