According to the recall notice, the battery can overheat, smoke, melt and catch on fire, posing fire and burn hazards to consumers.

This recall involves battery-powered Range Rider ride-on toy cars with an off-road vehicle body style and plastic tires. The ride-on cars were sold in pink and tan colors.

The recalled cars were sold through Fingerhut catalogs and online at Fingerhut.com and Gettington.com from September 2010 through May 2012 for between $200 and $230.

If you have one of the recalled cars you should immediately stop using the recalled ride-on toy cars and remove the battery and contact Bluestem at (866) 931-5417 for a full refund of the purchase price plus reimbursement for shipping and handling. • Make sure fireworks are legal in your area before buying or using them.
• Never allow young children to play with or ignite fireworks. Parents may not realize that young children suffer injuries from sparklers. Sparklers burn at temperatures of about 2,000 degrees-hot enough to melt some metals.
• Always have an adult closely supervise fireworks activities if older children are allowed to handle devices.
• Avoid buying fireworks that are packaged in brown paper because this is often a sign that the fireworks were made for professional displays and that they could pose a danger to consumers.
• Never place any part of your body directly over a fireworks device when lighting the fuse. Back up to a safe distance immediately after lighting fireworks.
• Keep a bucket of water or a garden hose handy in case of fire or other mishap.
• Never try to relight or handle malfunctioning fireworks. Soak them with water and throw them away.

According to the recall notice, the activity tray on the high chair can unexpectedly detach and allow an unrestrained child to fall, posing a risk of injury to the child.

The notice states the recall involves Evenflo high chairs that convert from a high chair to toddler-size table and chair. The convertible high chair can be identified by the model names and numbers listed below. Model numbers are located on a label on the lower portion of one of the high chair's legs.

The recalled Evenflo High Chairs were sold at Toys "R" Us and Walmart stores nationwide and online at Walmart.com and Wayfair.com between December 2011 and June 2012 for about $40.

If you have one of the recalled high chairs, you should immediately contact Evenflo at (800) 233-5921 for a replacement tray with installation and use instructions.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has issued a recall of over 14,000 TrimmerPlus™ Edger Attachments manufactuered by MTD Products located in Cleveland, Ohio the Northwest Indiana personal injury law firm of Schlyer & Associates is warning.

According to the recall notice, the steel shaft that drives the edger blade can break during use causing the edger blade to detach. If the blade detaches, it can hit the user or bystanders, posing a laceration hazard.  The recalled attachments were sold at Lowe's and other hardware and home improvement stores nationwide and on the Web between March 2011 and April 2011 for about $70.
