Northwest Indiana Lawyer Warns Airbag Defect Causes Hyundai Recall
The personal injury law firm, Schlyer & Associates, the Aggressive Trial Lawyers, has learned Hyundai issued a recall affecting Elantra vehicles due to air bag defects.
Automobile manufacturer Hyundai issued a recall affecting about 285,000 Elantra vehicles according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
According to the recall notice, the Elantras will be recalled in two separate actions.
The first recall covers the 2007-2008 model years and affects about 96,000 cars. The drivers-side air bag may deploy with full force.
The second Hyundai recall pertains to model years 2007 through 2009 and affects about 189,000 Elantras. According to Hyundai, a liquid spilled in the front-console cup holder could leak through and cause an electrical problem. The condition might trigger the deployment of the passenger air bag, even if the occupant weighs so little that the bag should not inflate.
